Keeping up with the Social Media Revolution

In today’s ever changing marketplace, the rise of social media can be both exciting and overwhelming for a small business on a tight budget.  Max Kalehoff, the senior vice president of marketing for Social Code stated that with 1.3 billion people are now facebook, advertisers are now spending more money on Social Media than ever before, surpassing what they used to spend on television commercials.  So how do we keep up?  Here are a few tips on making your presence felt on social media, (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+) without having to break the bank in the process.

Key Tips based partly on a presentation by Julie Braverman and Christina Grieves of Millennium Marketing Solutions at www.mm4solutions.com.

Facebook: Post 5 times a week on average, offer discounts, be authentic with your voice and brand, know your customers and post with them in mind, write posts with questions to engage your audience, include quality photos that represent you well, comment and interact on other’s posts.

Twitter: Share resources and tips, link to other articles relevant to your audience, share photos with your posts, use (#) hashtags to help you find your target audience, respond quickly to comments or questions, understand who you are, and communicate in a genuine way

LinkedIn: Create a company page, post pictures and logos to identify your brand, share news or updates about your company, post info on your products and services.

Google+:  Create Circles which will help you target specific demographics, share images of your products and highlight specials, share what is happening in your business, seek recommendations and reviews from past clients.

Lastly, if you love what you do, tell your story and let people know.  People are drawn to others who have a passion for what they do and provide!
